The Challenge
As a Staff Software Engineer within the Design Partner Program, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for transforming strategic customer insights into scalable, secure, and reusable platform capabilities across OneTrust’s AIReady Governance Platform. This role sits at the intersection of Product Engineering, Customer Engineering, Architecture, and strategic customer engagements, helping shape next-generation capabilities across Privacy, Consent & Preferences, Risk & Governance, AI Governance, and Compliance solutions.
You will partner closely with Product Specialists, Solution Architects, Engineering leaders, and Design Partner customers to solve complex technical challenges, define scalable implementation patterns, and accelerate delivery of customer-driven innovations. Unlike a role focused only on feature execution, this position is accountable for designing solutions that address immediate customer needs while becoming durable platform capabilities that benefit the broader OneTrust customer base.
Success in this role means raising engineering quality, reducing implementation complexity, improving platform scalability, mentoring engineers, accelerating customer outcomes, and helping OneTrust deliver market-leading governance capabilities with speed, reliability, and technical excellence.
Your Mission
Lead Technical Design & Delivery: Drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable platform services, APIs, integrations, and user experiences that address strategic customer needs while meeting long-term platform standards for reliability, security, and maintainability.
Create Reusable Platform Capabilities: Translate customer-specific requirements into generalized product capabilities, shared services, reference implementations, and reusable engineering patterns that can scale across multiple customers and product domains.
Partner Across Product, Architecture & Customer Engineering: Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Specialists, Solution Architects, and Design Partner customers to validate technical approaches, refine requirements, influence roadmap decisions, and ensure customer insights become high-quality product investments.
Drive Engineering Excellence: Set a high bar for code quality, architecture, testing, observability, operational readiness, and secure engineering practices. Lead technical design reviews, mentor engineers through code reviews, and ensure solutions are built for performance, scale, and long-term maintainability.
Accelerate AI-Enabled Engineering: Apply AI-assisted engineering practices and tools to improve development velocity, testing effectiveness, troubleshooting, code quality, and engineering productivity. Help establish responsible usage patterns and best practices for AI-assisted software development across teams.
Influence Without Authority: Provide technical leadership across teams by guiding architecture decisions, resolving ambiguity, aligning stakeholders, and helping engineers make tradeoffs between customer urgency, platform quality, and long-term product scalability.

Your Experience Includes
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS applications, distributed systems, or cloud-native platforms.
- Strong experience designing and developing scalable APIs, microservices, integrations, event-driven systems, and backend services.
- Hands-on expertise with modern engineering stacks such as Java, Spring, TypeScript, Python, REST APIs, SQL, NoSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience contributing to architecture decisions, system design, technical tradeoffs, and implementation patterns for complex enterprise products.
- Proven ability to build reliable, secure, observable, and maintainable production systems.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps practices, Agile delivery, and modern software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, improving engineering practices, and influencing technical direction across teams.
- Experience working with Product, Architecture, UX, Customer Engineering, and customer-facing teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, quality, testing, and troubleshooting is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Privacy, Consent, Risk, Governance, Compliance, Security, Data Management, or AI Governance domains is preferred.
