About the Role:
Sitecore is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Data Engineering to lead our data engineering initiatives across cloud platforms. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and developing two high-performing teams: one focused on cloud vendor cost data, and the other on product usage data. This is a critical leadership role, responsible for driving data strategy, optimising cloud data solutions, and ensuring the delivery of actionable insights to support business decisions.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, mentor, and manage two specialised data engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data solutions on Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Drive initiatives to optimise the collection, processing, and analysis of cloud vendor cost data and product usage data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, finance, and IT teams, to develop and execute data strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, quality, and compliance across all data engineering projects.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement within the data engineering lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on the adoption of new data technologies and methodologies.
- Monitor and manage team performance, setting clear objectives and ensuring accountability for deliverables.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Proven experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Deep expertise in Azure cloud services, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Databricks or similar technologies.
- Experience with large-scale data processing, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with data governance, security, and compliance requirements in a cloud environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:
- Experience working in SaaS or enterprise software environments.
- Knowledge of data visualisation and business intelligence tools.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
