About the Role:
Sitecore's APMO team is growing, and we are looking for someone who can own delivery — not just track it. You'll lead complex, cross-functional programs from kickoff to production, spanning on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid environments. You'll be the person who keeps commitments honest, gets the right people in the room, and makes decisions move.
You'll work directly with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to keep programs coherent, risks visible, and delivery on track. When things go sideways — and they will — you're the first one to know and the first one to act. If you're someone who gets energy from untangling complexity, building trust with senior stakeholders, and seeing real software ship to real customers, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Own the Plan — and Hold It
  • Build and maintain integrated release plans across roadmap, dependencies, and team capacity — with clear go/no-go criteria that people actually use.
  • Drive end-to-end execution across on-prem, SaaS, and hybrid environments, including release readiness, rollback plans, and customer upgrade paths.
  • Coordinate deployment strategies — phased rollouts, feature flags, canary releases for SaaS; predictable, customer communicated release cadences for on premises.
      Keep Delivery Moving
      • Manage cross-team dependencies and the critical path across multiple concurrent workstreams. Spot blockers before they become delays.
      • Facilitate program-level events — quarterly planning, Scrum of Scrums, reviews and retrospectives — and make sure they're worth people's time.
      • Escalate the right things at the right time. Give stakeholders accurate, timely status without burying the headline.
          Drive Stakeholder Alignment
          • Build working relationships with product, engineering, architecture, operations, security, and customer success.
          • Navigate disagreements without escalating every decision to leadership. Know how to get alignment in a room and move on.
          • Communicate tradeoffs clearly — to engineers, to product leads, and to executives — adjusting your framing without losing the substance.
              Improve How We Work
              • Identify delivery bottlenecks and suggest systemic fixes — not just workarounds. Use lean metrics, WIP limits, and cycle time data to make improvements stick.
              • Champion agile principles pragmatically. Adapt frameworks to the context; don't apply them religiously.
              • Use delivery metrics and quality signals to inform decisions and hold the team accountable to outcomes, not just activity.
                  Manage Risk and Compliance
                  • Maintain an active risk register. Identify, quantify, and mitigate program risks before they become incidents.
                  • Embed reliability practices: SLO/SLA targets, change failure rate, MTTR, and post-incident reviews.
                  • Coordinate security and privacy requirements — vulnerability remediation, data residency, pen test findings — and ensure audit-ready traceability.
                      Enable Customer and Organizational Change
                      • Lead change management for major releases, platform shifts, and significant customer-facing updates.
                      • Ensure customers are ready: documentation, migration playbooks, training, and release notes that help customers upgrade.
                      • Plan deprecations with clear timelines and migration paths.
                          What you need to Succeed:
                          • 5-8+ years delivering complex, cross-functional programs across multiple teams and components.
                          • Proven experience across on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid deployment models — you understand the differences and plan accordingly.
                          • Strong stakeholder management skills: you've navigated conflict between engineering and product without it blowing up, and you know how to get decisions made.
                          • Deep Agile delivery expertise — and the judgment to adapt frameworks rather than follow them blindly.
                          • Sharp analytical instincts: you use data to make decisions and challenge assumptions, not to build dashboards no one reads.
                          • Solid risk management track record — identification, quantification, mitigation, and escalation.
                          • Working knowledge of DevOps and SRE practices, and what they mean for release quality and reliability.
Additional Skills that Could set you apart:
                                      • Experience in SaaS or enterprise software with high reliability and security requirements.
                                      • Background working closely with R&D, security, or operations teams.
                                      • Experience managing customer migrations — on-prem to SaaS, platform upgrades, or architectural refactors.
                                      • Familiarity with scaling frameworks like SAFe or LeSS, applied pragmatically.
                                      • Experience coordinating programs across multiple regions or time zones.
                                              What Good Looks Like
After 6-12 months, you'll know you're succeeding if:
                                              • Delivery is more predictable — on-time rates improve, variance to plan shrinks.
                                              • Stakeholders trust the status they're getting — no surprises, no chasing for updates.
                                              • Cross-team dependencies are visible and actively managed — not discovered late.
                                              • Defect escape rate drops and change failure rate improves.
                                              • Customer upgrades and migrations go smoothly — fewer release-related support tickets.
                                              • Security and compliance findings get remediated on time, clean audits.
This role isn't a holding pattern. You'll have real ownership over programs that matter, direct access to engineering and product leaders, and genuine influence over how we build and improve delivery practices across the organization. We value people who are direct, transparent, and more interested in solving problems than protecting territory.
Sitecore is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity without unlawful regard to race, color, ancestry, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other local legally protected characteristic.
