About the Role:
Sitecore is seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant. The Revenue Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance with IFRS 15 standards for SaaS-based subscription models and complex multi-element arrangements. This role supports the month-end close process, analyzes customer contracts, and collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and FP&A to ensure revenue is recorded accurately and timely.
What You’ll Do:
- Revenue Recognition:
Analyze and interpret customer contracts to ensure appropriate set up in NetSuite ARM for proper revenue recognition treatment in accordance with IFRS 15 and company revenue recognition policy. - Month-End Close:
Prepare and post journal entries for revenue as needed, deferred revenue, and related accounts. Reconcile revenue-related balance sheet accounts deferred revenue and unbilled accounts receivable and support monthly close timelines. - Contract Review & Documentation:
Partner with Sales and Legal to review new and amended contracts. Maintain documentation to support revenue conclusions and audit requirements. - Process Improvement:
Participate in continuous review of processes and help identify improvements to streamline revenue accounting operations, including automation of manual tasks and enhancement of internal controls. - Audit & Compliance:
Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries. Ensure compliance with internal controls and processes. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with FP&A, Sales Operations, and Billing teams to ensure alignment on billing and revenue accuracy.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Fully qualified accountant, with 3+ years of working experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology company.
- Proven ability to run programs and projects, lead initiatives, and drive technological advancements.
- Strong understanding of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite ARM, Salesforce CPQ) is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
